Thermoplastic Polishing Kit Instructions

The most important part of polishing is to allow the materials to work!

Do not try to polish at very high speeds as this generates excessive heat and can melt both the polish and the material being polished.

Do not apply heavy pressure on the brush or buff when polishing.  A light pressure at moderate speed is most effective.

The 244 BLUE Polish on the Goat hair brushes will remove minor scratches and provide a high shine final polish on acrylic resin, composites, gold, non-precious metals, chrome, and flexible thermoplastics.  You may use either a lathe or a handpiece to polish.

Put a small amount of 244 BLUE POLISH on the GOAT HAIR brush (mounted or unmounted).  Excess polish on the brush will reduce the polishing efficiency.

Run the lathe or handpiece at a moderate speed -5,000 to 10,000 RPM.  Excessive speed will diminish polishing efficiency and burn the material to be polished.

Apply very light pressure o the brush.  Excess pressure will smear the polish and reduce the efficiency of polishing.

The 244 BLUE POLISH is water soluble, so any excess may easily be removed with warm soapy water or a steam cleaner.
