| Surface retained bridge in molar region
Step-by-step:
- The initial situation before the extraction of premolars (teeth 24,
25).
- The upper jaw after the extraction of premolars. Note the old amalgam
filling in d.26, which was removed partly and only mesially.
- In occlusion, there was enough space between d.26 and d.36 for surface
retained fiber reinforcement.
- A view of the fiberframe. First, one
Perma fiber was placed
occlusally from a small, prepared cavity in the canine to a mesial cavity
in a molar. In addition, two Perma fibers
were placed buccally and palatinally over the pontics. In the end, the
mesial side of the molar was reinforced with a piece of
Perma Mesh, in order to strengthen the onlay. Note! The
reinforcement should be placed against the stretching side, which in this
structure, falls in the gingival direction.
- A ready bridge in a cast. After making the fiberframe,
the pontic teeth were veneered with composite resin. There is enough
proximal space for cleaning. Wide surface retained attachments were fixed.
- Occlusal view of the bridge.
- Finished and polished bridge.
- A ready bridge after luting. Only the mesial amalgam filling was
removed and covered with Perma Mesh
reinforcement.
- A ready bridge, side view.
