| Reinforcement of an overdenture
Step-by-step:
- Make a groove for the fibers. The groove
should be made as close as possible to the surface of the crowns, the
attachment devices and across the line of probable fracture.
- Wet the Preat fibers
using a loose mixture of acrylic powder and liquid. Wrap the tin foil
around the fibers. Bend the bundle a couple
of times to make sure the fiber bundle wets
perfectly.
- Place the tin foil wrapping inside the groove and allow the acrylic
mixture to cure.
- Use the pressure vessel to improve fiberframe
curing, if necessary.
- Unwrap the tin foil and fit the fiberframe
into the groove.
- The finished product is able to withstand the stresses that concentrate
around metallic attachment devices. The fibers
should be carefully placed around and as close as possible to the metal
surface to obtain the best possible reinforcement. The fibers
are completely invisible in the final product when properly made.
