| Repair of partial removable denture
Step-by-step:
- The fracture line typically starts at thin edges where the bending
forces in the denture tend to concentrate.
- Bevel the fracture line and make space for the reinforcement. If there
is little space, use Perma Mesh to create
a thin structure. Use preferably at least three layers of Mesh
to obtain sufficient strength.
- Wet the Mesh pieces properly using a loose
mixture of acrylic powder and liquid.
- Place the Mesh pieces on the edge of the
denture where the crack initiated. Cure and form
to the final shape and polish.
- The finished product is strengthened around the area the fibers
are placed, to withstand normal biting forces. This is usually sufficient
to reinforce the entire denture. In this case, it would also be wise
to reinforce the area around the pontic and that of the missing teeth.
