Preci Clix

The All A-Round Ball that really Clicks!

The Use of the Female Paralleling Mandrel

The Clix female paralleling mandrel may be used for the Preci Clix, Preci Ball, and all other 2.25mm Ø spheres.

Using the1211p Female Paralleling Mandrel in a surveyor, position the metal housing on the male attachment so that it is parallel to the path of insertion/removal of the other abutments.

1

Different alignments of attachments.  Remember, there are three planes that the attachments may be non-parallel in.

2

Parallel attachments with non-parallel females.

Forces not directed along the long axis, thus increased loading and wear.  Greater chance of attachment wear.

3

Non-parallel attachments with corresponding females.

Difficult path of insertion and removal leading to excessive wear on attachment.

4

The use of the Preci Clix 1211 Paralleling mandrel.

The females are parallel, allowing for an easy path of insertion and removal.  This parallelism also allows the prosthesis to rotate.

The height of contour is still engaged around the sphere, and the Clix female allows the undercuts of the sphere to be engaged.  30º is about the maximum degree of divergence that allows the Clix females to still engage the undercut of the sphere.
